Heart is the home
That’s how I feel. I’m Jose, a local with relatives all over the Bay Area. Raised in Hayward, I attended California State Hayward and San Francisco State University where I obtained a Paralegal Certificate. I was employed as paralegal for 32 years in the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office and retired in August of 2013. Soon thereafter, with the encouragement of family and friends who know my surprising knack for meeting people, I obtained my Real Estate license and then joined Daniel Winkler and his team.
I’m married to my partner of 20 years, Todd Masteller, and together we reside with our two dogs in the Allendale neighborhood of Oakland. Passionate about community, I currently serve as vice-chair of the Allendale Park Community Council, where my values of giving back and connection find concrete expression. And not to brag, but both Todd and myself have been recognized for our public service and are past recipients of the Oakland Hero Award.
My creative outlet is baking; if you’re lucky one day you’ll taste a homemade pie. I love to share with family and friends. Given the chance, I’ll hit the road. Todd and I are passionate travelers; we hike and take road trips all over California with our two dogs in tow. But even local hikes in Joaquin Miller Park are fabulous; there is so much beauty in this region! (Don’t forget to ask me about my favorite trails and dog parks)
