Laura Martell

I’m Laura “tell it like it is” Martell. Direct, energetic and forthright. I team with Danielle at Winkler Real Estate Group, and together we do great business, representing sellers and buyers on both sides of the bay. We find communities where clients will thrive, whether they are raising a family, seek live/work situations, or are investing in properties for resale or retirement.

I’ve always been an outgoing “people person”. After college, I excelled in non-profit work, negotiating county contracts for grantwriters, and foster care services. I ran a program for at-risk youth and their families, overseeing counselors, case managers, reporting and compliance.

But I never looked back after jumping from the non-profit sector to working with first-time home buyers in 2004. It was a natural transition, as my attention to detail and enjoyment of people remained constant. Plus, I’m a fearless go-getter. (Trust me; I’ve paddled with the gators in the swamps of Florida, without a guide.)

My real estate career is a blast! I like the diversity of people I meet, the flexibility, and most of all, helping people. I’m not afraid to give direction, and at the same time, I know my clients are driving the car. I must be doing something right; my 5-star reviews on Yelp (yes, I’m blushing) tell me my genuine enthusiasm for this business shines through.

Coming to WREG was the best decision of my career. Working with Danny is great. He’s the most loyal, reasonable, caring broker I’ve ever met. He’s the best in the biz.

I was proud to serve on the Oakland Mayor’s Commission on Persons with Disabilities. Other past volunteer service includes ten years as the President of the Castro Street Fair; we donated well over $100,000 dollars annually to community groups in the Castro/Eureka Valley area of San Francisco, including the purchase of all instruments for the Collingwood Elementary School in the heart of the Castro.
